new weather stripping

car is almost ready to go in for paint
and i want to completely replace all the weather stripping and all the old door seals that have all fallen off over the years

where should i go shopping????
I called hawks twice and am still waiting for a quote for everything
so i figured I'd post up and ask all of you

There are quite a few companies making the weatherstripping these days. I would not trust anything but OEM GM strip that can still be found on e-bay, in the JY's and at many places if you do a web search. gmpartsdirect.com may have it still if not good luck and I hope you are happy with what you get.

I replaced a few of my weatherstripping pieces with Soffseal, the rest are GM. You can't lose either way. Both fit excellent.

just wondering cause the oe stuff is so much more expensive.

more expensive is sort of an understatement

where did you order the soft seal from?

1A Auto, who sell on Ebay as well as their website, have all the weatherstripping for our cars. I know they carry Metro products, possibly some are from Soffseal, too. I bought the door weatherstripping from them. I reviewed the products in the aftermarket products forum at the top of the board just a week or so ago. Shipping was very fast.

i seen jcwhitney sold it through someone elses post. I have no idea about the quality but you can get the whole thing for a hard top for i think it was around $250
