Hood problems

I have a 88 Sport Coupe. A buddy of mine gave me his IROC hood as he now has a SS hood.

Well I installed it over the weekend and today I was aligning it. I have it aligned at the front towards the bumper and I have it pretty much aligned at the back towards the windshield. The problem is it doesn't follow the curve of my fenders. On either side it sticks up less than 1/4 an inch. So basically it has more curve than my fenders.

Is there anything I can do about it? The hood never was worked on. The passenger side fender is newer than the drivers side, but the alignment is off on both sides, so I'm not sure what to do.

Any suggestions?

Axle/Gears: have no clue
take your shocks off the hood and then close it. if it goes away then your shocks are to strong or your hinges are binding. try that first

I wouldn't think the shocks are too strong given the previous hood I had was the stock hood and this one doesn't weigh any less, it's not like it's fiberglass or anything.

On this link I've circled where it sticks up less than 1/4 of an inch and the black lines indicate where it's flush.

update on the situation. Struts and hinges are fine, I had gotten the hood from a friend and asked him about it. He said it was like that when he got it (he got it used too but the guy he bought it from said no work had been done on the hood). So it's either bend the hood back to the right curvature or leave it the way it is. It's not that bad, but I dunno. When I get a chance I'll take a picture of it.
