installing high rise spoiler on my firebird

i just bought a high rise spoiler to put on my 92 firebird. but since the holes dont line up. im going to have to drill new holes in the rear deck lid. then fill the old holes w/ body filler. i thought that maybe the camaro rear deck lids might fit my firebird. if i can find a deck lid i could install my spoiler w/o drilling and filling holes.

can anyone tell me if the rear deck lids from camaros will fit my firebird? and witch camaros othher than the 91-92 z28's will have the correct holes?

from what i understand, the rear deck lids are the same. there just may be the issue of wiring up your third brake light... some decklids had different methods of wiring up the third brake light

Do yourself a favor, if you fill the holes, weld them in then grind'em down and then use filler. I had a z28 wing on my 87 but I used a z28 hatch with the holes already there.
Here are some pics.

thats too much body wrk. im not worried about drilling holes more about covering up the old ones. so i thnink even an rs rear deck lid wuld be o.k. cus all id have to do is drill doubles of the holes already there

i filled the holes and repainted on mine and it was too much work.......... i know the rear quarters make the rear of the bird wider but they keep the same deck. also on m ine the spoiler isnt as wide as the car..... how much of a differnce do you have on your car?

well the spoiler isnt as wide as the car but i set it on top and it looks great, my problem is that i have the holes that mount the stock spoiler(non wrap around) and they would show up. i can fill them but id rather not have to deal with that and pick up a lid w/ the correct holes if possible.

bump, bump, bump maybe theres a reason people aren't responding....
THEY DONT HAVE THE ANSWERS!!!
bump,bump,bump
If you get a new decklid you'll still have to paint it. Harbor Freight Tools has a killer wire feed welder for $129 and it won't be the last time you use it. Get some scrap metal and drill some holes in it, then fill them and you'll see how easy it really is, and it's STILL going to have to be painted! If your goint to paint yourself then this is the way to go. If your going to hire someone to paint it for you they won't charge that much to fill the holes while the've got it!
