Hi, I have an 85 z28 and working hard on it. already put a LT1 inside, and 4th gen dash and seats. just shaved antena, logos on GFX, riboon at the nose and handle door.. but can make the doors to open..

can somebody post some pictures of the solenoid installed for shaved doors?

I have a hard time to make it work, and my little brother started to refuse enter trough the hatch to open the door

the solenoid is not pulling hard enough, and is a BIG one, so maybe I need a better install to make it work..

I tried the search button but all threads are old and most of the links are dead..

any help will be appreciated

thanks

here is a pic of mi car, (Iīm waiting HOK BC-10 paint to finish it... must arrive saturday)

I thought I had pics of my install on my cadomain, but they arent there...and ufnortunatly the pics were on my laptop and thats fried . What I can tell you though is that I have 45lb solenoids (wayyyy too much) and I have them hooked directly to where the latching mechanism was to open the doors from the inside. They have a little hooked the runs between the solenoid and the latch....there is little slack between the two, so when you press the button, they pop open pretty damn hard.

Im also going to throw this out there since you didnt mention it....but are your poppers installed correctly? at all? You have to have those little plungers in a good spot or they can keep your door from popping open as well...trust me, I made that mistake the first time

I will post you some pics When I get home of my setup. I use the door lock actuator and a spring loaded plunger to open mine.

yea if you have power locks you can go this route....but regardless you arent going very far with getting doors open without spring loaded plungers like Battman and I sated

the other thing I'd suggest is to use the search tool up at the top of the screen...there are so many topics on this site that go into detail about it, there's really no reason to start another thread (though I know the original poster wanted pics)

ok, I found the problem.. first, the solenoid wasnīt strong enough, so, reinstall the lock actuator and remove the inside handle rod, and problem solved. the inside handle was a little rusted and so a bigger effort from the actuator was needed to work.. I even used the same lock rod, just bended it at the tip so it donīt fall..

and about using the search button, as i said before, those threads are SO OLD that almost all the links are dead now.. anyway.. I finally solved this
