replacing a door with fender still on?

How hard is it to replace a door on an 86 Camaro with the fender still on? My passenger side needs replacement and Iwould like to avoid taking the front end apart to do it.
Thanks.

not hard at all. Its gonna take time to get to all the bolts on the hinges, but not a big deal. Every thidgen is the same. I have a 92 and did it with no problem. I took my whole car appart, but I think I took the doors off first (3 years ago)

make sure to run some tape along the edge of the fender...so if you accidently rub against it...the paint won't chip

When i took the doors off my parts car the fenders were still on, to get to the bolts on the doors i took the plastic inner fender pieces out, that gave me access to the bolts from the front. the hardest part about all this is going to be getting the door back on and aligned. good luck!

It's easier to get it to re-align if you scribe the outline of the hinge to the body.

It took me and my bro to align it. I pulled up and back while he slid the bolts in. Those doors get really heavy really fast. Be careful.

I used a rolling floor jack to hold the door level while i tightened the bolts.

I used an engine puller with a leveler and two tiedown straps. Once you get the holes lined up, start the two forwardmost bolts first. If ya don't, it's really tough to get the other two bolts started. It took me maybe 30 minutes by myself. Love them 3rd gen doors!
