Is this fixable?

Ive got an opportunity to pick this car up for free. Its a 91RS. It would be perfect for the project im going to start. Im just wondering if I should or not based on the damage.

Im not really worried about the amount of parts and work needed. This is going to be a long term project. Only thing that concerned me was the floor.

If you know your way around a welder, that is some very easy work to do. Because most of it will be hidden, you are not going to have to worry about making everything look PERFECT. Also, what you might want to consider is on those tricky spots like around the jam corners, you could always go the the junk yard, cut out the metal you need and weld the exact peice in your car.

For free = hell of a deal

MAn, I must say that is an amazing attitude!

You have an opertoonety to practicly re-design the car, however you want to do it. When your done, it will be perfect for you, Good Luck!

Wow! Aint much there. Funny you should post that. I started cutting into my TA last night that has problem in exactly the same spot. Mine is near identical. Kind of a tough spot for my first bit of welding bodywork, but it is hidden...... There are several pieces of metal that come together right there and it has been like peeling an onion. I jsut bought a spot weld cutter today.

Good luck!

I think im going to give it a shot. I do have a donor car for doors, dash, hatch and so on. So far that stuff its just a matter of swapping it over. The donor car i have now was going to be initially used for the project. But the rust is worse, plus it has a sunroof. At the start i was going to patch the sunroof in the donor car, but i think going with the red RS will be better.

If you're starting a project from the ground up, two cars are definitely better than one!

and if the floors in the other parts car are good, then you got factory sheetmetal to work with too!
