How do I remove headlight assembly?

The drivers side headlight assembly is broken... A friend gave me a new one (entire assembly, including motor)... I'm wondering what the easiest way to remove/reinstall this would be?

If I could afford it, i'd buy a manual, but I'm on disability and don't have that in the budget right now.

Advice appreciated!
Thanks!

It's probably a t/a or firebird since he mentions a motor. Check autozone.com, they have the chilton manual online (although it sometimes doesn't discuss things like the headlights).

The trick to removing the assembly is to get it in an upright position- whether you turn the lights on or raise them manually. Once its up, you remove the headlight bezel (I think there are 4 torx screws holding it on), once that's removed, you take off the top piece. Removal is not difficult. If you go to Top Down Solutions website and look for his instructions on headlight motor removal, it will walk you right through it. Click on deluxe headlight repair kit.

two bolts on top of the rad support are easy, there are also 2? bolts under the light assembly that you can see from the engine compartment. they are a little tricky to get, but if i remember correctly if you take the bulb and pan out you can reach down and get them

Just remove the hood rubber stop thingy and you can fit your arm under the headlight

A deepwell 10mm on a stubby ratchet fits perfect in the new space

Plan B is to remove the lower air dam and reach em from underneath

Best of luck to you

thats the easiest way imo. Instead of reaching through the stop, or removing the bulb, just go underneath, theres two 10mm bolts in the upright position, pull those, and the 2 up top on the rad support, and the whole thing comes out, bracket and all.
