Painting front bumper

I got a front bumper off a '88 Camaro to replace mine which is a 1991 RS. The question is how do you strip the old finish off? It has alot of scuffs and cuts in the paint, but the bumper is in tact and no rips anywhere.

sand it down, depending on your condition of primer, if its bad, then sand it all down, and use the plastic primer, and topcoat

I have found that bumper cover stripper works wonders. I used SEM 39913 Bumper Stripper. Mine only had the factory paint to remove. The product is easy to use, and can cut your work time a great deal. Sanding afterwords with 220, fixing dings with body filler, prepped it for primer.
