Power window regulator
when i bought my 91 rs, i questioned why my passenger window refused to roll up or down. the answer i got was "you need to replace the regulator", so im going to go on that. i searched and found how to remove the motor assembly, but can i remove just the regulator? if so, is this a difficult jobs / anyone have any tips on easy removal? i have a chiltons book but i have just recently moved and cannot find it.

changing the window regulator is a pain in the neck.
this article will show most of the steps, it has lots of photos too:

I'm not sure if there's a real easy way to do it, the only suggestion I can offer is take your time, it can be an all day job if you've never done it before.

I just put power windows in mine, so I had to replace the regulators.
It's a pain, but can be done. It would be easier with 2 people, then someone could hold the glass out of the way. If you have tint on your glass, and do it by yourself, be prepared to scratch the tint. It's just so bulky getting those in/out, pretty good chance you'll put a scratch in it.
What is wrong with the actual regulator on yours? Does it bind or something? Are you sure it's not the motor that went out?

well, when i first got my car, it didnt even have a door glass, so i bought one. me and my bro spent about half the day putting it in, and as of right now its not straight. i asked my friend why it didnt roll up, was it the motor, the switch or what. he told me his step dad is "sorta" an auto mechanic and told him it was the regulator. when i put the glass in it, it would roll up a little, and roll down a little (approximately 1 inch) then just stop.
i havent driven my camaro for months because i blew the engine, i spent $1500 for a good used engine, dumbass mechanic guy did not replace any gaskets and oil leaked out and now it has a knock.. i do however want this window to roll up and down. i cannot find regulators anywhere! im tempted to just swap the door with one which is a manual!!!
if anyone has any suggestions im willing to try anything!

Take off the door panel and look inside and make sure nothing is in the way or in one of the tracks stopping movement. If the motor is bad you can get a new one from a dealer, you'll still have to drill out the rivets on the regulator so you can get to the rivets that hold on the motor and drill those out and replace the motor and then all the rivets. When you drill the rivets on the regulator (whether you replace the entire thing or just the motor) keep track of which holes to use because the manual regulator uses a different set of holes that are right next to the holesthe power regulator uses.
Swapping out regulators is no where near hard enough to warrant replacing the entire door. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a fool. I swapped out my manual regulators to power regulators in a couple of hours. Running the wires was harder than swapping the regulators, just wiring was a lot cleaner.
