How do I fix this ?????
Hi guys.
So I bought a second camaro last week.
for only $50.00 !!!!!!!!!
it had no motor or trany.
No problem, I had 305 HO and t350 trany in my garage.
The body is good except for this particular area I attached.
The bottom is good except for a small hole in floor (front passenger side)
Can anyone guide me through repairing this without replacing the quarter panel.
I want to learn, learn, learn.
I want to see what I can do with a fifty dollar car.
will post more pics

pretty easy fix than. Cut out all the rust. The outer wheel house u should be able to make with sheet metal. Than ether get a 1/4 wheel open section.Or make with with sheet metal to. Before u weld every thing up get some rustmort ( or some kind of rust converter) To put on the rust inside the will house. Than use a good welding primmer. Get it close to the right shape than finish with bondo. Sorry don't have any with just the metal welded in

how do I shape the quarter open section with sheet metal.
I want to stay away from buying pre fab because I want to learn how to do it myself.
thanx.
I'm not worried about welding it up. although not so crazy about thin metal. Don't want to burn through.

The sheet metal will not perfect. U can use smaller pieces weld tap tap weld tap(with a body hammer) What i did on someone else car was Used a fender wheel lip. U can get a fender pretty cheap at the junk yard. And the shape is about the same. U will have to hammer and dolly it. Than to make it perfect use filler to get your line.. the only way to do it right is to weld it. U could use rivets but would not suggest doing it that way.. Practice welding on the fender u buy. Before u weld on the car

Best thing to do would be to go to a salvage yard and cut a section out of a quarter panel and use that to tack in place. After tacking it fully weld it, grind it and prime and paint.
This route requires less time and fabrication. Good luck.

If you are wanting to fab the piece out of flatstock, good luck finding somebody to show you the ropes.
Like leading (pronounced leding)...bondo has replaced it, and there is almost nobody left that knows hoe leading is done.
Save a LOT of time and aggrevation...cut a good piece off a junkyard car, and weld it on. Sheetmetal welding is FAR from standard, 1/8"...1/4"...etc., metal though.
