Replacing front bumper cover and questions about air dam

I apologize if this has been asked before, I couldn't find anything specifically for my car.

I have a 1992 base Firebird, and I want to strip off the broken remains of the sport appearance package kit that is left on it, and replace it with just a normal, unadorned front bumper cover (and the rest all the way around too.)

What is left under the front there is a lot of broken pieces and one more or less straight piece back closer to the front tires that I am pretty sure is the air dam.

It just goes from one side of the car to the other.

When i replace the front bumper cover, is there anything else I need to replace behind it? I noticed in quite a few pics of the 91 or 92 Firebirds that the air dam seems to wrap around in sort of a squared off "u" shape.

Do I need to replace it too, or would I be okay with what I have on there and just replace the bumper cover?
