Best Place To Buy Paint?
Best Place To Buy Paint?
I'm looking around online, and a while back I stumbled on a site that sold paint based on the old data sheets. After selecting chevrolet -> type of car -> year, it displayed all the sheets by year, and then sold the paint based on the original numbers (mine being a 15 (silver metallic)).
Anyone tell me where you've bought paint online/who matches paint the best? Almost every store local to me is notorious to miss-tinting colors. Anyone offer some advice?

If you buying paint for the whole car what would the problem be with the local buying. I find that if you go to the Autobody supply store and ask questions about mix and formulas used etc you will do good. If you buy on line and the color is off what would you do ?. If you run short on paint and bought on line what would you do ?..Remember the Local supply store not the Parts store mixes and sells gallons and gallons every day so they are the pro's .....stay local you will be better off.....

Well, it's just that local shops are notorious for miss-tints. I want to have a good, reputable company make my paint and sell it to me before I waste my money on a horrendously miss-tinted colors (example, friend wanted brown, got purple, and shop wouldn't refund him because "those are the codes you wanted") so now if I ask for silver, get hot pink, doomed? Paint is freaking expensive.

I have painted quite a few cars and bikes and never never had the wrong mix.
They open the cans right in front of you to see. and they also take a stick and dip it to check as well...Best bet is stay local and you will be happier.
you must have a local autobody supply where the body shops go to . Or go to a bodyshop that mixes and buy from them too.....
