Very Quick Hood Question

I have my fiberglass hood from ramairhoods.com. Can I safely keep the stock hood lifters on it or will that damage the hood.

Thank You

It depends on how worn-out they are. If they're pretty new, they'll probably crack the hood when you try and close it. If they barely hold up a steel hood, they're just right for a 'glass hood.

I got tired of trying to find worn-out hood struts in the junkyard that were worn-enough not to damage the hood, but not so worn-out that they won't hold it up. I went to gmpartsdirect.com and ordered the hood struts for an '82 Z28 with the factory composite hood. Even being brand new, they don't exert a bunch of pressure on the hood so they're perfect for a fiberglass hood.
