Gas pedal question

Yo,

I just need a GM part number for a stock gas pedal. That's it. I did a search first and found nothing. Thanks in advance...

After a little more searching, I have found that there may have been two different gas pedals used by GM. If anyone can supply either or both, that would be great...

I'm pretty sure GM no longer makes one of the pedals, but i can't remember if it's the brake pedal or the gas pedal. Either way, i got both mine from nextgenparts.com It was only about $7 each.

I looked at nextgenparts and all I saw was pedal covers. I need the pedal itself, gas pedal. I will look again. Of course my best will probably be to go to the junk yard, but I don't have much time for that...

Thanks for the replies...

I just bought a new one from Hawk's for like $10 or so. It was the second one used by GM. It is identical to the ones used in fourth gens. The difference between that and the original is the pattern on the plastic. Size shape and mounting holes are all the same.

The problem I had was I ordered a set of billet pedal covers from Thunder Racing. The clutch and brake fit just fine, look really good too. The gas pedal, does not even come close. When I took off the pedal to see what was going on, I realized I either needed a new gas pedal, or to do some serious reworking of the stock pedal to make it fit.

I think I will just go to a local junkyard and see if I can find one that fits.

Thanks for all the replies.

I do find it odd that GM would use two different designs for something like a gas pedal. Oh well, General Malfunction strikes again...

That was my experience as well. Unworried about the stocker, I simply used a Dremel tool to cut the it down until the cover fit.
