Rear hatch question
I was having problems with the motor on my rear hatch it wasn't lining up properly so it wasn't closing. My mechanic disconnected the motor on it(because it would run all the time when it would't shut) anyway that was ok with me because I really never used the trunk anyway. So it has been closed for quite sometime. Today I noticed it seems to be up about an inch or two (it still is locked close) so now I am thinking rain will be able to get in. Is there a way to adjust this? Will it be expensive to fix? I actually am considering getting the motor reconnected and aligned but now will this be a problem?

Re: Rear hatch question
You mentioned it was disconnected because it was running all the time. That is the classic symptom of a broken gear nut. I sell them for $7. It sounds like you may need the guides or a motor housing too. Read the Tech Article I wrote that is here on TGO to see how to repair it and if there are any other items you may need.

Re: Rear hatch question
Mine was doing the same thing and i ordered a new gear nut and removed the pull down unite and installed it easily and lubed it and put it back in the car, It makes it easier to mark where the scrws holding the unit are placed for easier alignment, I did it the hard way and had to use trial and error to get it to pull down the irght amount.
