I am looking to buy paint for my 92 camaro and i am not sure how much to buy? This isnt going to be a show winning paint job, I just need enough paint to cover everything. Thanks

 

What kind of gun. How you gonna paint it? Maybe go to your local paint supply place (If you have one) and ask them.

Spray bombs from an auto store get like 10-13 of them.

 

as dcjredline said, it depends on a few things...if your just doing outside panels, no jambs, no ground effects or anything of the sort, strictly outside sheet metal, a general rule is 4 un-reduced ounces per panel. hoods are big, count those as 2 panels, bumpers waste alot of material when attempting to cover complete in the grille openings, light openings and such so also count those as two. another thing to conisder is color, darck colors obviousely cover way better than silvers or yellows. paint brand is another factor, some companies base-coats cover way better than others, a more expensive paint may be worth buying due to using less material.

 

like that guy said, there are a lot of variable. Paint brand alone can almost double the material needed if you use a cheap brand.

 

i just bought shopline for a car i`m doing a complete on. i bought a gallon of clear and a gallon of black. i also bought the reducer and hardeners for 240 all together. i`d say a gallon clear and a gallon of whatever color. I should have some left over. which that is a kind of nice thing too have.
