Rocker Panel Question

Well, I have a few questions. First, I have a 1987 sport coup Camaro without ground effects. I am looking to add them and was told that I need a rocker panel extension. What exactly is this and how should I go about getting one?

Second, was there ever a ground effect (rocker panel effect) that had just "camaro" on the emblem? If not, would it be possible/affordable to have one made that will fit in the size of an "RS" emblem slot or iroc and z28?

Third, I am getting a new rear bumper since it seems that the ground effects are built in on it and am not sure about what rear emblems I can put on it. I want to put "5.7 Tuned Port Injection" on the left, which shouldn't be an issue, but I want to just have the "Camaro" emblem on the right side, like this one. My concern is the emblem not fitting in the slot on the bumper. Will it fit on say, an IROC-Z bumper cover or any other ones, or are they all different sizes?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and for any help

Re: Rocker Panel Question

First of all, all the answers to your questions are here if you do a search. I will help you with what I know this time.
FIRST: You need to find a donor car and take all the GFX's, mounting brackets, front and rear bumper covers, and everything else you can get from the car to mount the GFX. Also note how they mount to the fenders.
SECOND: The only year I know of that had the Camaro on the rocker panels was the 1988 SC.
THIRD: The rear GFX's are not mounted to the rear bumper cover but you do need a bumper cover that came from a car with GFX.
FOURTH: Do what you want, it's your bumper cover.

Re: Rocker Panel Question

Thanks for helping with my second question. I did search, but I just got stuff like "selling ground effects" or "how do I get the ground effects off". Try searching and seeing if there are results before telling me there are. If you do find a search page with an answer, I will be more than happy to admit I missed it.

My question about a rear bumper cover was asking if the emblem will fit. I intend to do what I want with it, but I need to know if I can do it.

I am still trying to figure out if all the emblems for the rear bumper and ground effects are the same size (will the iroc, z28, and rs all fit on say, an iroc rear bumper or rocker ground effect?).

I appreciate any help

Re: Rocker Panel Question

Are you trying to make your car into an IROC. There are several things that are totally different. The from the Lower Ground Effects. Front and Rear Bumpers, The Hood, Dash Emblems, Engine, Suspension, Steering Wheel, Rims, Shifter and more.

Well, I am trying to get it looking like one, but not exactly. I just always liked the ground effects look more. I purchased a front bumper cover off of a 89 z28 already so that I can add the chin spoiler. My car also has a 350 TPI from an 87 IROC-Z and upgraded suspension (still missing some stuff that the z28 and IROC had). I do have plans on getting a hood with louvers on it, but I don't have the money for that at the moment.

The taillights on IROC-Zs are also different because they are the grid style. IROCs also sit 1/2 lower than the z28 and sport coup, but I am not really concerned about that. Thanks for making sure I knew what all is different, I appreciate it.
