86 IROC ready for paint

86 IROC ready for paint
I have a 86 IROC and I'm reading that stock should have black headlight pockets and black side mirrors but I've never seen it before. The car has been painted once not by me so I don't know what color the mirrors were. I would like to paint the car back to stock, has anyone seen the black side mirrors that is supposed to be standard?

the mirrors are suppose to be body color , and yes the headlight pockets should be black

In my opinion you should do what you think looks best. Right now my mirrors are black and so are my headlight pockets, but when I paint the car I'm painting both the color of the car (whatever that might be). Just do what you want.

Ashbrook,I agree with92rs 110 percent.I don't think black mirrors were stock colors on 86 unless the car was black,and yes the headlight openings were definately black no matter what color the car was originally.

mirros are the color of the car and yes the headlight buckets were black.even tho i had mine painted the same color as the car.just my preference
