Door Key.

Alright... so when i go the ol Camaro.. No door keys. Ignition and t-top i have. But no door. I was told that if you take the vin to the dealer they can get you one made for the car... Is this true?. Just a quick little question that i needed some help with.

Re: Door Key.

It is true the dealer can cut you a key with the vin. The problem is the car is so old your vin info may no longer be on file. i forget how long GM keeps that kinda info around for. You could try tho, cant hurt right. You say you have a key for the t tops. Have you tried it in the door, they should be the same key unless someone replaced your tops, or lock cylinders. Hope that helps a lil

the dealer only can get keys for 90+, i tried to get the key, but they told me i couldnt cause my cars too old.im just replacing the door cylinders considering they are 19 years old in my case.you can get a lock smith to make new keys i think .
