Re: bolt on hood blisters?
Well, here is how I put them on: First of all, I took the hood completely off of the car.
I took the box that the blisters came in and cut the two largest sides off. Then I punced the bolts on the blisters through the card board, and traced around the blisters onto the cardboard with a sharpie. I then had a template that had the shape of the blisters along with the bolt locations. Hawk's just kind of shoves the bolts in the fiberglass at random places, meaning that they are not symmetrically placed on the LH and RH piece, so this is quite handy. Make sure you mark your templates LH and RH!
As far as how I lined them up, I placed the hood on the lawn face down, and removed the insulation. I do not know if you know this or not, but the actual frame of the hood is the same as the Z28 and IROCs, they were just covered with a piece of flat steel on the RS, so you will kind of have a guide as to how to position your templates and mark where to drill your holes. It also helps to make the holes a little bit oversize so that you can move them around and get them lined up exactly where you want them.
Also, these will need some sanding/prep work to make them smooth before you have them painted.
Over all, I feel that these are pretty decent, and it is probably a hell of a lot easier and cheaper than trying to find an OEM hood and blisters.
Hope this helps.
