Tell me what you think!
I have a 82 TA I wanted to leave it plain black but now I have seen some others on this site. I was thinking of painting some stripes or something maybe the hood bird. So what you think leave it alone or paint something. Give me all the feedback you can.

I agree, leave the car black and keep the side pipes. The bird should be left for second gen's, its mostly associated with those cars

Oh okay well thanks for all the info, and all the complements. I just feel like Im not done. but I guess everyone likes it. Some just dont like the wheel wells chrome. I guess now I can concentrate more on the performance. If anyone else can think of something to improve the looks let me know.

Please don't take this as an insult........... it's 2007, lose the sidepipes, chrome fender flares, wheels, and hood pins. PLEASE
Sidepipes are for hot rods and old Corvettes.

I dont take it as an insult some people just dont have open mind. Ya I agree with you it is 2007 and since when is there rules to customizing a car. But thanks for you opion. Im keeping the side pipes but I probably will lose the wheel wells. I feel like I want mine to be different then the rest of them. I dont like following the crowd.
Re: Tell me what you think!
Replace the hood pins with hood locks. Have a custom stainless steel grill made(or 2 grills, one for each side) or find some material to use as a grill.
Some other little minor things that I found help these cars look better: 4th gen door handles(too bad no one sells them in chrome), shaving the antenna, shaving the door locks, tint.

Okay thanks that is what I was looking for some accual sugestions. I didnt think of the door handles or hood locks insted of pins. Thanks for Ideas. Do you guys think some kind of mesh would be better for the grill inserts. Maybe some horns too who knows. Thanks. And the ground clearce does suck on it. but The frame under the oil pan hits first before anything else. But its a drag strip car and There is no where to hit inbetween here and the track. even loading it on the flatbed that I tow it on it clears. If I wanted it for the street I think I would do air bags or something.

It's beyond repair. Burn it to the ground and start over.
If you did the customization yourself, throw your tools in a dumpster and don't ever attempt such complicated matters again.
If it looked like that when you bought it, let someone else pick out your next car.

and that was as worthless comment as it gets too. So many new people come to this site and get turned off by that exact attitude. He wanted actual suggestions not "lets see who can pick on him the most".
IMO
Lose the chrome fender flares. They cause rust in a place already prone to rust.
I'm not a huge fan of the side pipes on cars without blowers sticking out of the hood, but hey its not my car either. I would recommend a deep black with a good shine and it will bling more than any chrome. Locking hood pins like others have said. They are flush and look allot better. What it needs most is a good shine.

Add to those a Competition Yellow 1988 Fiero and a Black 1994 Corvette.
Notice the complete lack of sidepipes, hood pins, and chrome hips.

Hey man, Don't take it personal what people say about your car.
Everyone has their own idea of what the car should look like.
I for one think you make a unique statement.. However here is
the downside.
The association with these cars of being ~m u l l e t~ driven
trailer trash limo's is common and your car doesn't help that distinction.
It's one thing to rock an 80's car.. but it's completely another
to try and look as obnoxious as possible.
I think the comments made earlier were out of line, and
very rude.. but at the same time understandable =)
Either way, you drive a Firebird.. so your 'OK' in my book!

You need a bigfoot gas pedal, chain link steering wheel, curb feelers, and a crown air freshener in the middle of the dash

Re: Tell me what you think!
Looks like the front is lowered??? Maybe try some larger diameter wheels with lower profile tires. I lowered mine all the way around, it gives it a better looking stance and it handles awesome. Only problem with doing that to yours is the sidepipes would drag on the pavement, I custom made all my exhaust (I worked at an exhaust shop for a while) I got 3 inch pipe to tuck up real nice and tight under the car, so even though the car sits about 3 inches off the ground it doesn't scrape.
Most of all remember, it's your ride do what you like.

Re: Tell me what you think!
I have to agree with the others who said to lose the chrome fender flares and switch to locking hood pins. I'm in the process now of shaving off the door handles/locks on my 92 camaro, and the antenna is already gone. I like the sidepipes, wish they were legal where I lived. I would replace the grilles with some type of chrome grille, either mesh or billet to match the side pipes. As far as a hood bird, I live them on the second gen's, but they just don't quit fit on the third gen. If your gonna do it, you might want to have someone who can draw real well draw up a slightly different version of the hood bird, I swear I saw one on here somewhere that the guy had kinda flamed it and it went back over the sides of the fenders and into the doors that looked real nice. Can't remember who it was or which post I saw it on.
Unfortunately, yes these cars(and camaros moreso, at least in my corner of the world) have a rep as being ******-mobiles. That said, I agree with irockwithdirt, the Dukes of Hazzard horn is great, I have one that I'm planning on putting in my car. It will be the secondary horn though, the compressor for mine takes too long to spool up to play the horns to be the main horn.
As for the stripes, I would stay away from them. They look great on camaros, but not on firebirds. The only reason I'm not putting them on mine is because everyone has them.
Other than those few ideas, I think it looks great.

Holy crap ive never read so many dam insults on one page. Didn't you mother ever tell any of you "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all" I mean saying you disagree with the crome things, and the sidepipes are one thing, calling them @#$@#$!#!@***$@%$@@ is another! If HE likes the pipes HE can keep them on the car, the forum it titled "tell me what you think", meaning give him CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, don't tear his entire car apart, telling him to junk it and ****! Now, honestly I like it! I like it alot, the black paint with the crome sidepipes is awsome!, It could do without the crome wheel well things, but whatever!I personally like alot of the things people tend to bash the crap out of on here; louvers, side pipes, daytona hood, ect. But thats MY opinion, and I'm not going to tear someone else's car down. Everyone has there own dam taste! I have posted 2 build threads on here, and ive been torn down in both of them! for instance my car, everyone told me to junk it, start over, etc, did I? NO! I restored and made a car! A fairly decent one if I do say so myself. Just because everyones car is not a mint $20,000.00 car! DOSE NOT mean its a pos!!

I personally think people are being alot nicer then perhaps they could be.

Hello. I too have first post here. I look for inspiration here for some time and finally register.
My car is very similar in appearance, and I get many compliments. From now and again uneducated people make "hillbilly" hair remarks, but owning a V8 car here makes me stand out and makes jealous. I support you. excellent choice on modification.

I do not appreciate disrespect remarks. We are all brothers under the general motors flag, and I do not see why bad remarks come out.
In case you didnt know, firebird and camaro are closely related.
disrespect is one sign of jealousy. I think most of you with bad remarks are jealous of his modification.

Recipe for Ultimate gnarly machine
wrap the exhaust up around the back of the door, then make them stacks (like old semi's)that release just above the level of the roof. then buy "no fear" and burning skull stickers and cover the car in them. then put house speakers in the back of the car, but don't tuck the wires away. then you have to get those tires that say "nascar" on them, but with a 14 inch wheel with like a 70 series tire. wait even better, make the wheels daytons, with 70 series out back and skinny regular radials up front
Don't forget the louvres in the back window, get the plastic 3 peice ones, apply burning skull/no fear stickers genorously, also FOUR hood pins to hold the beast in.put some on the trunk to.
Use sparkling gold window tint on all the windows with a 4 inch thick banner on the front window with the confederate flag on a belt buckle pictured on it.
Call it the red dragon and tell chicks it isn't "tottaly legal, too much attitude" while you drive around in your tight jean jacket and REO speed wagon shirt with your brush in the center console next to your bottle opener that you got for free from mailing in proofs of purchase from cases of colt 45. Remember that you CANNOT play anything on your tape deck newer then 1985 and that smokey and the bandit is your favorite movie. keep a vcr and a copy of it in the car just incase you need it.
just playin around i've got plenty of country in me too.
