1982 camaro value

http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/476604928.html

ive been looking at this camaro, i called the guy and went and saw it. its a real nice body, only rust is a small spot on the hood and some surface on the roof. the wheel walls and all there, i peeled up the driver carpet a bit and its all solid. got to see underneath to, subframe is all intact and clean/painted.

hes said that he wants exactly 750$ for it, hes rejected everyother offer.

is it worth that much?

ive always wanted a 82-84 but theres a 88 roller by me for 400......

is the 82 camaro for 750$ a fair price?

Re: 1982 camaro value

looks like condensation in the back, not a good sign, i've gotten 5 cars total for that price so far WITH motors, trannys, and complete good condition interiors. I wouldn't, i'd go with the '88, by then the steering box frame crack issue was fixed.

Yeah, I just bought my 84 camaro Z28 loaded w/ ttops for 600 bucks, had in tact tan interior that was pretty much ruined, I replaced it all and still dont have 750 into it.... keep looking, you'll find what your looking for...

Re: 1982 camaro value

I agree that $750 is too much for that. I got my camaro running good with a 350 and t-tops for $1,500, trashed interior though. Then I went and purchased a parts car for $600 and it came with a non running (no ignition) 305, good transmission and great condition gray interior.

Also, it claims it has z28 rims, but they look like RS rims to me. Just a pet peeve

Re: 1982 camaro value

only reason i didn't mention that is i thought that the RS or sports coupe w/e u wanna call it picked those up in 88 with the rest of the body kit, i thought before that it was actually z28 stuff?

I am not sure, I never looked really deeply into it, but I thought that those rims where only on the RS but I could be wrong

Those rims were used on the older z28's, and a lot of rs's

Re: 1982 camaro value

those who posted they got their cars for cheap live in two of the cheapest thirdgen states in the country. both florida and california sell thirdgen's for the least amount of money out of all states in the country.

with that said unless the rear quarters and floor were in good shape i'd pass. anything thirdgen wise with good floors and rear quarters meaning very little rust is definately worth that in body work alone. a solid roller body that doesn't need the work done on the later is definately worth up to 1k, more so depending on the year and what else.

what is it your looking for? i have two 91's in various stages of progression that i'm getting rid of. just don't have the time and i have over 3 times what i'm asking into both of them.

either way good luck in your search. thirdgens are fun to build but you need a good base or they are expensive.

thanks for the offer Kandied, im sure there both nice cars, but being as young as i am, I decided to not do a third gen for a while, my 86 was too much of a project to take on, and wont be here much longer.

Im gonna save my dimes and nickels and get a 3G Montecarlo

the kinda car im looking for is a cheap roller with a good body, which would only need a repaint. Those 2 dont really mix.

I'll enjoy my 86 while I have it then save afor a 3G monte carlo, I like em better
