Right floor pan
so I want to delete my cat. simple right? then your asking why is this in the body category. but you see i want to REALLY delete it I want to take out the bump in the floor
my Idea is to find a Right hand driven thirdgen and cut out the floor pan. and replace mine with it. well atleast have someone in austrilia do it
my question is,,,how feasible is this?
has anyone deleted there hump? how did you do it?

Re: Right floor pan
Couple problems-
I doubt the right hand drive cars had a different floor pan, after all, they have exhaust too.
It would be easier to make a flat floor pan from sheetmetal.
There will still be a pipe there, so some amount of hump will still be needed.
The carpet wont fit right and seat tracks will need to be rigged up.

oh. i dont htink you need to remove the hump on the car to have your exhaust system with out a cat. is your exhaust running on the driver side of the car? and do they make right handed drive camaros?

Re: Right floor pan
I want to move it... for the hell of it? lol because it doesn't need to be there. my exhaust goes towards the right just like most but I thought a Right Hand Driven car would have the exhaust on the opposite side

Re: Right floor pan
just take it to an muffler shop and tell them to take the cat off. they will just stick a pipe where the cat use to be. thats why they did to mine.

Re: Right floor pan
if you really want the hump gone just make a new pan out of sheet metal. also, a floor pan from a firebird would probably work, my Trans Am doesn't have the hump.

Re: Right floor pan
I dont think my Trans Am has the hump. but I havent had my carpet out yet so I guess I could have a custom floor pan.
nevermind, I think my Trans Am has the hump, lol I wish it wasn't snowing out so I could go check.

Re: Right floor pan
the snow lol. it ruins alot of things sometimes haha.
i think a custom floor pan would be really easy and simple to build.
just get a welder. or buy all the stuff your self. cut the hump out your self. and take it to a shop and they can welder up for ya.
i dont htink it would cost much. just a quick weld and your set with a humpless car :P

Re: Right floor pan
UIf you had a welder just make it your self.. and to the person who asked why do you want the hump gone.. you've obviously have never ridden on the passenger side. I think its worse then the back seat... I just find it so uncomfortable.

Re: Right floor pan
Yes the back seat is very uncomfortable for someone(especially if you're 6ft. tall)lol!
but I've never been that uncomfortable in a front passenger seat, plenty of leg room as long as there isn't a tall person in the backseat that requests you to move your seat forward a bit(that can be uncomfortable. Knees in the dash and all)
so anyway,I just don't understand what the problem is with the hump in the floor?
