Are the ss hoods functional? is there enough material around the openings that the opening can be cut out?

Re: ss hood guys

For a Carbed or TBI engine, yes. Just dremel out the material that is in the hole and smooth it out. The whole is a little right of the air cleaner.

If you really wanted to get technical you could make some sort of tube that goes from the hole to the element. I was planning on this, coupled with the TPI ducting up front. When the hood is closed, the hood snorkel would create sort of a top to the air cleaner, and then you could make the TPI snorkel come up to the cleaner and it would form the bottom ring. You could also dremel out the back of the SS hood and leave the back of what I just explained open to get even more air.

Re: ss hood guys

They are all right on. I think mine rises about 2 inches. Never measured it. I can fit the 5'' Accel air cleaner set up under there with no problems.

Re: ss hood guys

I'm in the process of trying to fit mine. Major fittment issues. It sits OK on one side but sits up above the fender on the driver's side a good 1/2 "!! When I put a straight edge on the hood the curvature is not equal on both sides. There is a 'hump' at the leading edge of the driver's side hinge. I'm waiting for Bruce to call me back with any further tips that he might have but I really don't see how this will ever line up without cutting into the hood.
