locks

ok so like a year or so ago (when my sister ownd the car) some ******* tryed to break into my camaro but wasint able to get in but he dilled a hole under the lock trying to pri the lock out and ever since the key dosent work in that lock so i was wondering what he may have broke and how much would it cost to fix cause its the driver door and i dont like having to go to the passenger side door to unlock the car

drilled a hole into the door itself or into the lock mechanism itself? You can replace the lock itself or you would have to patch the door and repaint.

sounds like you may need to replace the lock tumbler either way if it isn't working, and then you'll need to either replace the entire door or patch the hole, and spot paint to match the hole that was there.

well the other door locks still work i just whont to fix the driver door so i dont have to walk around the car to unlock it

You can get new 2 lock cylinders for about 20 bucks from Hawk's, Summit or the local parts guy if it is the lock cylinder and a local locksmith can re-pin to use teh same key if you want. It may be that the jerk bent up the linkage, you might want to look at the linkage inside the door to see if there are some obviously bent and binding parts first, it may be that simple adn checking it is free.
