Help Imediately doors won't unlock Frozen Help
I need some help with how to unlock and get in my car with frozen locks.
Today it was warm enough that when it was snowing and hit the ground it melted. The equivilant of it raining. Now as the day has gone on it froze and since my weather stripping is bad on the doors it probably got down there.
What should I do?
Please help

So wait, the doors are frozen solid to the body? Or the locks have frozen water in them? Either way, using water would probably be the best solution to get it temporarily un-frozen...meaning, spray water on it to get it to melt enough to open and get it home or wherever you need it to go. Maybe a hairdryer or heat gun to melt the ice...I may be way off on what the actual problem here is. I thought I had problems with my car...doors frozen shut is a new one on me.

Uhm, what i do is take an warm rag and put it over the lock and let it stay like that over 5 minutes, and then i try to unlock the door and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, but if your door is frozen try barely hitting the door on the right hand side where it opens, i live in Maine, and we get alot of frozen weather, you learn alot. Not sure if this is gonna help but that's what i do when my doors on my cars gets frozen
Re: Help Imediately doors won't unlock Frozen Help
Couple things I can suggest that have worked for me in the past (gotta love living in Minnesnowta)
Use a lighter to heat up your key (if the lock cylinder itself is what is frozen)
Use Lock De-Icer (again for the Cylinder)
Otherwise if it is the door frozen to the door jamb, you could try using hot water in a pitcher and pouring it around the door jamb (use a small funnel to help direct the flow of water. You do not want to pull on the exterior door handle too much, as it will most likley break.
Otherwise, when I had my other 3rd Gens (and a 4th Gen for a year) as daily drivers in the winter, the hatch never froze shut on me, so I was always able to climb through there.

If worse goes to worst, you could always urinate on the door. If you're at a place where warm water, and hair dryers are not available of course. I also don't carry a lighter...
