Hi, we have a 91 Trans Am that we run in a local Drag Radial class,and we are needing a custom hood built for it. We are currently running a Ram Air II hood from GT Fiberglass,and we don't have enough clearance for our new engine combination,it is a Dart "tall deck" 434 sbc with 18* heads and Blow-through F-1R Procharger. We called VFN,and they said they would custom build us a hood for it,but then they backed out before I could get it ordered.So we called GT Fiberglass,and they said they would also build me one that was the same Ram Air II style,but in a 5" tall version,but they will not reply back to me,so I guess they backed out too. We are wanting the same style of hood that we have,but in a 5" tall version,and we want a light weight "pin on" race hood,as the hood we currently run is a "bolt on" hood,and weighs close to 50 lbs. We need to get as much weight off it as we can.

Does anybody know of any companys that will build custom hoods? I'm going to try to post a picture with this post of the style of hood we are wanting. The hood in the picture is built by VFN and is for 98-02 firebird,but we would like a hood just like this for our 91 Trans Am. Please let us know.

Thats a badass hood on that 4th gen. Probably try someone doing/creating fiberglass stuff. They could probably mold something, or point you in the right direction.

 

try the superduty hood. it will clear anything u throw at it. is looks like the 93-97 ss hood style. go look at hawksthirdgen.
