Re: Undercoating...pics

makes a big asthetic difference and helps slow down rust. definately looks better than before did you scrape off any loose stuff before putting new on?

What did you use to do it? I think bedliner spray would be the ultimate undercoating.

Re: Undercoating...pics

Eastwoods sells a gun to spray undercoating and bedliner. It gives it that really textured look. Pretty cheap too. For the undercoating, you can just use Duplicolor truck bed liner in the gallon can.

Re: Undercoating...pics

i pressure washed the bottom then wiped it down with grease and wax remover, I used 2 different brands, duplicolor and a 3M product, 3M was about 10$ a can and the dupilcolor was 5$ in my opionion the 3M was better, but it is the rubberized undercoat, i was also thinking about spraying the back inside since the inside is striped out, but not intil i put the roll cage in.

I appricate the feedback but it does look better in person hopefully it might cut back some exterior noise....maybe?

Re: Undercoating...pics

How difficult is it to use that stuff? I was planning on using a roll on kind for the bottom of my IROC. The rust isn't bad but I don't want it getting worse, and since I live in WI all the water and salt and such aren't really good for it. Unfortunately I'll have to wait until spring since I have it all tucked away.

Re: Undercoating...pics

it really wasnt difficult at all just make sure you clean were u gonna spray and spray it on, i didnt have rust on my camaro i live in texas but i figure since its all tore apart i would go ahead and do it, i think it looks good, but it is messy i got that sh*t all over me hard to get off the skin. I also have the inside all apart i think im gonna spary from the back seat to the back.

Re: Undercoating...pics

yea do yourself a favor. get a wire wheel and attack every bit of rust. i spent 3 days getting all the rust off and undercoating every single place i could. even jacked up 2 feet in the air with no suspension on it it sucks but its so worth it though.
