Adjusting Hatch privacy shade/curtain

I had no clue where to post this, if it needs to be moved please do so for me.

I searched awhile trying to find answers but no one really explained it. from my understand there is a way to tighten the rear roll out shade so that it doesnt sag down when pulled and rolls back in when you close the hatch. So can someone please explain to me how to tighten this? I hear its easy but I toyed with it a while and couldnt figure it out.

So basically I just take the caps off the end of the rod the handles on and roll it? Do i go the way it rolls up or do i go the opposite way it would pull out, but not pull out just wind it around?

My interpretation was to take off the end clips where the two clips on the handle are that connect to the top of the hatch then roll it around and put it back on and pull it out and it should be tighter. Im gonna do it tommarow and will post results

Re: Adjusting Hatch privacy shade/curtain

you may be doing it the wrong way, i did the first time and it got looser. it looks ike you should roll it up in there the way it goes to tighten it, but you go the opposite way of what it looks like it should be. Like if you stand on the passenget side of the car facing it, it should be counter clockwise and it will click each time around, it took mine like 6 turns
