how do i mount ground effects on a non-gfx camaro?
i have a complete 92 z28 ground effects kit i am looking to mount on my 86 base coupe. how do i mount the rocker ground effects on my car which never had any?

i have them all d.a.'d with 180 grit and ready to prime. please help!
there are the tabs on the bottom that i can screw into the floor, and on the fender edge i see that i can throw a screw in the side of it.

Re: how do i mount ground effects on a non-gfx camaro?
there is a bracket that is tack welded to the body from underneath that gives the main support of the rocker ground effects, you will need that for proper fit and finish of the kit, otherwise something custom could be made, just a little test fitting and modifying would probably have to be done to be made perfect. My suggestion in finding a correct one would be a junk yard. Ones around me move the cars around with a fork lift. Often screwing up the rocker ground effects, but not harming the mount that is tack welded to the body, and with the rocker ground effects broken from the forks, it makes getting to the bracket a lot easier.

blare tools kick ***, but they are expensive. i use them frequently to remove rear 1/4 panel spot welds and such, door skins, ect

it is used in conjunction usually with a 1/8th bit. you drill a hole in the middle of the spot weld with the 1/8th bit. then, attach the blare tool to the drill. the blare tool has a peg sticking out, that sits inside the 1/8 hole, and keeps the tool on center. the blare tool has teeth on it, and what it does is when used correctly, it will drill out the spot weld through one panel, without ruining the 2nd panel by cutting a big hole in it.

then found another couple of sites that have "refills"
http://www.arizonatools.com/tools/sp...tail/BLR13214/
assuming you need thier tool, but can't figure it's far from the price of summit's product.
also this site seems to be cheap and stocked up

expensive first "investment." But if it lasts longer than just one job i would consider it myself. I just don't know how quickly those tips grind off. This is the first i've heard of it. So thats why i just wanted to make sure we were talking about the same thing.

Re: how do i mount ground effects on a non-gfx camaro?
what i did on my old sport coupe is i took i believe it was inch wide angle iron from like lowes and bolted it to the side of the car under the door. then i just drilled the quater panel hold and fender hole and adjusted the ground effect where it needed to go. Then i predrilled the holes and screwed them on. Worked great for me. Want some pics of how it turned out click the link.
If you have more ?s just ask me. Hope this helps -Matt
