Re: Pin on hood question

there is no place to mount the hinges on a pin on hood. if you look under your hood now where the hinges attach you will see what i mean. on a pin on hood the area where the hinges would attach are flat versus on a bolt on/stock hood there is a "mounting panel" i guess you would call it.

Re: Pin on hood question

^ a pin on hood is VERY lightweight and lacks most if not all of the underside ribbing in which the hinge mounts would be located. You cant use them with the hinges, no way no how, thats why they are sooo cheap, they are thin and rather flimsy actually. Even if you rigged something up to mount the pin on hood to the hinges, the hood is most likely not strong enough to support its own weight from just the lower end and it will most likely break.

save your pennies for a bolt on hood, its a real PITA having to lift off the entire hood all the time when you want to check something and also having to find somewhere to put said hood where it wont blow away in the wind.

Save for a bolt on hood
