cracks in sail panels

i was wondering how common the cracks are on the front of the sail panels near the glass top rear of the door glass? what is the best repair for this? is there something to stop this from happening again?

Re: cracks in sail panels

do you mean on your roof (where roof connects to "sail panel") above the windows? if so those are stress cracks from the body twisting, Id get those welded up and then get sub frame connectors so they dont return.

Re: cracks in sail panels

dumb question, what is the sail panel? the metal body part between the the door and rear hatch that connects to the roof? if so, that would explain why the only rust on my 88 iroc was little pits on that panel. it could have streched, cracked paint, let water in and rusted. just an idea.

When I hear sail panel I think of the trim on the inside that covers the speaker, also heard them referred to as ear muffs. The metal part is the B-pillar outer panel on the drawings.
