Hood to Fender Gap Uneven Side to Side
I have a 198x factory fiberglass hood I've installed on my 1992 Z28. The problem I'm having is the gap between the hood and the fenders is next to nothing on the passenger side, and quite a bit on the driver's side. The hood will close, however the gap difference is quite noticeable.

I've enlarged the holes in the hood hinge base in order to "shift" the hinges towards the driver's side, basically giving the hole more tolerance to move around, but it doesn't seem to be helping all that much. Are there any other tricks to alignment that I can do? I'm at a loss.
Thanks!

I know a body guy who may have some tips to help you out. You should come out to one of San Antonio Thirdgen meets. www.sa3go.proboards105.com

have you played around with the latch? I'd try to move that abit to see if the gap decreases....

looks and sounds like your hinges may be tweaked a bit. i would try putting the hood up and pushing and pulling at the hinges. a little force could go a long way!

Charcoalbird, thanks, but I got it to fit. I tweaked the hinges a bit, reamed out some holes and it's all good.
HCR13, there is no latch, just hood pins.
My car isn't exactly legal for the street

Looks good. Where do you race? I've been wanting to take a Road Course on but there is nothing that i'm aware of like that here. I do plan on going to the Auto-crossing event they have here every last sunday of the month.

So far I've been to MSR-C (Cresson), Texas World Speedway (College Station), and Harris Hill Road (San Marcos). I just purchased the car a few months ago and am just starting out doing driver's education road course events.
If you're talking about SASCA for the autocross stuff, that is a great group of people. I went to a lot of their events here in town when I had a '01 Z28.

Yes, SASCA. Well, if you ever go to one of those Road Course events, or Harris Hill Road let me know.
How does your new 3rd gen compare in feel to your 4th gen?

The third gen handles better and brakes better. The LS1 though, obviously, had gobs of power.
To get the 4th gen to be anywhere near as fun as my '92 would have taken a big brake kit, stiff springs, and some weight reduction.
I'm definitely happy with where I've ended up :-)
I'll post up if I head to any more road course stuff. There's an event in August put on by NASA at TWS. I'll more than likely be there doing the HPDE. Check it out: http://www.nasatxracing.com/
