Hey Gents,

I have a questions obviously...

My car was rusty and so i replaced the floor pans, half of the car is still covered in undercoating... what could i use to remove the undercoating oil? Its brutal to touch and makes everything look really dirty.. any information would be awesome

this would be a lot better if you could snap a pic of what kind of stuff you are dealing with.

The different kinds of under coating need to be delt with in different ways.

I had some guey stuff all over my car when I first got it, I had to scrap it off with a putty knife, then use carb cleaner and a brillo bad, stuff like that to get it all off.

SUCKED.

The stuff I think you're talking about, is fairly easily removed with an angle grinder (4.5"-5", 11000RPM type of deal, or air powered) with a cup style KNOTTED wire brush on it. The 3" cup style knotted wire brush cost me $45 (double the price of my cheapo angle grinder!), but has lasted me 3 years so far and is showing no signs of wear yet. It's already outlasted the cheap angle grinder!
Anyway, that thing will chew through even the worst automotive goop crap. I've used in on the underside, and on the glue that holds the water plugs in the floor boards, and it worked great!

dry ice is not a good idea.... 1200 bucks a day to rent the machine
