I recently purchased an 88 iroc (t-tops) that has been sitting for almost 10 years (you can imagine the smell). Anyway, had to rip out the carpet and before I replace the carpet I want to replace the weather stripping because there are a few leaks. Problem is I am going to be repainting the car sometime within the next two years.

Will I have to buy all new weather stripping when I go to paint the car or can I reuse it?

Also, is GM the best to go through for weather stripping or are the aftermarket co's. just as good? I want them to last...
