Trunk lid electric pull down...
Basically I have completely dismantled it cuz it hasnt worked ever sense I bought the car. I took it all apart and used bailing wire to hold just the latch part in the right place for it to close... Can I swap for a fixed latch or is there a better solution than a $700 replacement from a dealership?

The electric latch just broke on my Firebird. I want a regular mechanical replacement.

Well there is a quick fix to the electronic locking system, you can remove the motor and adjust the locking unit to the proper height and drill in a locking screw that keeps it there permanately and make sure you hit it with WD-40 to keep it working all the time!
----------
you should be able to find a replacement at any local junkyard for around $20.00 to $30.00 cheap!
