Awhile back I owned a '87 IROC L89 car,it was painted a 'vette color-I think-,it was a dark copperish/burgundy color.If anyone knows what im talking about,do you know the name of it or the code?

find me a high quality pic and post it of the color you are looking for. I need a pic of the car and the year it was made and I will go through the color docs here at the shop for the code.

 

I sold this car a long time ago..so the best I could do is take a picture of a photogragh,so its not the best

 

was the paint factory for that year? it doesn't have to be the camaro's color code but I do need to know what year that paint came from if I were to look it up.

 

sorry i wasn't clear on that,but yes,it was the factory color and I think it was only on the '87 model-IROC only I believe

 

it could potencialy be paint code, 74 flame red, but I do not think that is it, the other code for red according to gm for 87 is code 84 it also says flame red in my program but it is a solid color (no pearl or metalic). I was looking for a code that had some kind of gold pearl or something substancial to justify you saying it had a copper hue. I was really looking for some strong metalics or pearls and 74 has some but I don't think it is quite what you are looking for. I apoligise for not having a chip chart for gm from 87 I just don't normally deal with that old of a color. The easyest thing to do at this point would be to see if you just so happened to have the vin number for the car I could look it up that way. now as far as the info I do have here the two codes 74, 84 are both the main colors gm used in 87, I also have a data base for the rare colors but my laptop is not equipped with the actual codes so I can not see the paint's make up. those codes are as follows; Blaze Red (wa8573) made from 85-88; Cardinal Red (wa5285) from 84-87; Claret Red (wa9290) from 87; Sparking Claret (wa8772) from 86-88; Vivid Red (wa9269) from 87. that is all of them that I have listed. I hope that helps some.
