Tail Lights:82 smoked tail lenses (knight rider)
just have a question re: those tail lenses. I am changing them from the typical 89 firebird so it looks like KITT/knight rider. the 82 does not have the marker lamps section. the blinker 'plug' is bulkier and does not want to fit right against the car. do they make a 'flatter' blinker plug so it will fit without bulging out the tail light lenses?

I've noticed that if you mention you are building a Knight Rider car no one responds to your question. Not sure if members don't care for the Knight Riders or just something I've noticed.

id just go to a salvage yard cut the ones out of a newer car and wire them up in yours

Check out your local parts store (Pep Boys, O Riellys....Autozone is the worst about having them) for a replacement part...Dorman #85867.

Im considering doing a similar swap on my 92 TA. I want to install some red lenses I have from a 84 Firebird or some smoked units from 82-84 TA. What changes are required for these to work? I have the harness with the 84 lights.

I'm not looking to do a KITT car, but I do like the Smoked/Louvered look the 82 'Birds had on the tail lights, Found some on EBAY for cheap, and want to do this conversion to my 91... What has to change? Nothing, Right? Just pull the old lens cover out, and slide the new one in, and put the bulbs where they go... I hope?

On my 91, I ended up switching a couple bulb harnesses from 1 filament (1156) to 2 filament (1157) bulbs... Then they fit in the 82-84 lights... Which still left me with 2 parking lights on the rear that are not in the circuit anymore... My rear lights flash, but my rear side don't... Not sure if I need to complete the circuit or what... Still working on it...
