Matte Paint Jobs - Any pix?
I see solid matte black third gens quite frequently, has anyone seen any in different matte colors? Maybe even two-toned matte colors? What's your opinion of it? Any pix?

i think two tone on thirdgens is great. i would imagine a matte two tone would look just as good. but no, i have never seen it in person.

I think you see matte black on thirdgens a lot because people can't afford the get 'em painted. Same reason you see imports with unpainted body kits etc. etc. I don't think it's done on purpose, at least, it shouldn't be. Sure, on some old school hot rods, or cutting edge full on customs, a matte or satin finish can add something even more unique, but I don't think it's a good idea on a thirdgen. Kinda red neck if ya ask me.

matte finish doesn't belong on a third gen IMO.

Re: Matte Paint Jobs - Any pix?
are matte and flat different? i have seen some pictures of some awsome flat black camaros. i am not talking about the budget black primer look, yes that is ghetto. i had looked into flat paints a while ago and they were really really expensive so i dont know how it could be considered the cheap way out. i think that flat black has got its bad name from the cheap people that do just drive around with faded black primer just like 3rd gens have got a bad name from the red necks that drive the **** out of them and then let them sit in the corner of their yard all rusty for the neighbors to see.

here is a link to the exact car i was thinking of, i know it is not a thirdgen but it still looks awsome.

Yep, that's pretty cool.
Problem is you need to be darn sure the rest of your car can pull it off. Body needs to be perfect since all the flaws come out. Interior, exterior, engine etc. etc. IF, and that's a big IF, you do everything right, I think it could look good. Simply taking a good looking thirdgen and throwing Satin paint on it isn't enough.
Oh, and the cars that DO pull it off are satin finish. They still have a little shine. Flat is flat. Practically primer. No bueno.

I'd have to agree with Abubaca on this one. Flats are old skool and 3rd gens definitely don't fit that category!
But if your heart desires, Hot Rod Flatz offers just about any color you'd like.
