Those w/ Ram Air I hoods

How tall is the hood in the rear? I am wanting to order a hood and I am wanting to know if that RAI hood will clear my setup. I am using an air gap RPM intake, 1 inch spacer, drop base air cleaner w/ a 3inch filter.

Anyone know if this will fit or do I need a 3 inch cowl?

Thanks.

Jason

I'd have to measure mine to be sure, but its pretty close to 3 inches tall in the rear.

If you would I would really appreciate it. Where did you get your hood from?

Re: Those w/ Ram Air I hoods

I bought my hood from Ascd, but that was like 8-9 years ago.I took a few pics for you, the hoods a little oddly shaped. 4 inches in the rear, but it has some molded shapes underneath which take an inch off around the edges. Sorry, its a little filthy. Oh, that hole for the airbox didnt come on there btw.

Re: Those w/ Ram Air I hoods

I have a suncoast creations hood. Its enclosed in the rear. I actually had my inspection guy measure it this year. The law here says the hood cant be higher than 3" taller than the center of the dash. My hood measured 2 3/4" tall so I was good to go!

Re: Those w/ Ram Air I hoods

I got my hood today from Hawks. I ordered it late Sunday night and it was here this morning. The hood looks good. My only question is on the sides where the fender curves down. The hood is basically flat and doesn't follow the curve of the fender. Is this common or normal with a glass hood?

I do not have the rubber pieces under the hood. The hood is sitting lower than it will but there is still no curve. I am no way bashing Hawks. I just want to know if this is normal. Other than that the hood looks like it will fit pretty good.

It's more pronounced on the passenger side.

A dog? Ouch! LOL. I love my Firehawk. I like the lower profile ram air hood compared to the WS6 hoods. I think thats why I like the ram air 1 hood on my 89.

You know my wife said the exact same thing tonight. I'd like someone to photoshop that so we could see what it's like.

Funny.....that's the exact same thing I said to MY wife.

I know it needs painted. I have a new nose piece and fog lights for it too.

And yes I like the hood with the wider nostrils.
