T Top Problem
ok, it's been discussed a million times on here, i searched and couldn't find an answer to my question..
about 2 month's ago my '92 camaro's Lexan T-Top flew off, so we went out and bought a glass t top that fit.. or so i thought, i tried adjusting the places where the t top's lock into on the car, but there's still a very small gap on the back part of the t top, and i was looking and noticed that the plastic part of the t top doesn't go flush with the rest of the car when it's on and i can see a hole there. can i do any adjusting, or do i need to just get another t top?
p.s i've tried on 2 t tops from 2 different cars..

Re: T Top Problem
maybe you bought the wrong size pinned t-top? Theres two different types of t-top pins that hold them on. Check and see which one you have. If you have the small one its just a little metal pin driving into the t-tops. if you have the large pin its a small pin with a large plastic cover on top of the metal pin and its usually for later models. 1896?-1992. I had lexan covers also and bought some glass ones and reamed out the hole with a drill to make it match/fit and used the old assembly from the lexan one to the glass ones to to make it fit. I haven't yet put it all together bu i will when the car is painted./finished.
But before I tried putting the small pinned one into my big pinned hole and there were some seriously different gaps.

Re: T Top Problem
With the tops locked in can you wiggle them? Let me guess... It was the passenger side that flew off.... Thread Starter

Re: T Top Problem
It's not a problem with the pin's.. the pins and the holes they attach to.. it's hard to explain over a computer.. there's a gap with the plastic piece.. the t tops fit nice and snug.. and it was the driver side that flew off.. the front pin decided not to go out when i closed it..
