any know if i need to replace the hood latch or something so the hood sits level on the body of the car..because my damn hood has about a 1/4 in-1/2 in. space between the hood and body.........also the hood has problems opening i have to pull the hood latch while holding the hood down sometimes...... all i want is that damn hood to close perfect!

 

Open the hood and in the corners you should have to rubber bumpers, turn them down and see if that helps.

 

Also, the hood latch itself can be adjusted if the rubber bump stops don't do the trick. In my experience, the hood latches need adjustment over time, but with a little experimentation, you shouldbe able to get it right.

 

mine was like 1/2 inch too high, and all i did was move the latch all the way down,

if it still needs to go down more, then try to move the whole piece of metal the the hood latch is connected to, there might be a little wiggle room.

and on a firebird, you can pull the middle of the bumper up a little too.
