WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Is this fixable/stoppable?

I just found this... Passenger-side fender well. What a crummy place for a rust hole. Can it be fixed?

anything can be fixed, do you have a pic that is not so close up of the spot? so we can see what area its by?

Och! your best bet now is to pull the plastic fender lining off and get a better idea of what your dealing with, im sure you can see this when you pop open your hood on the right side next to the firewall. after you pull the plastic off maybe peel some of the coating in the wells back or off to see how much more your dealing with and if theres any other spots hiding under the plastic. . .

yea its probably fixable, but you should pull the plastic liner off and see the extent of the rot. As for a fix, you can chop the part out of a doner car, or form a piece of sheetmetal to replace it. Just make sure its not a larger problem.

That must be an early 3rd-gen thing because my '82 T/A has the exact same rust hole! My plan is to cut a good peice out of a car at the junkyard and section it in. There are multiple peices that join there so its not exactly an easy fix.

Re: WAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Is this fixable/stoppable?

ha. i just bought a 92 camaro. and the same spot my camaro has. until... du du dun... i pulled the passenger carpet up, removed the seats and bamm... rusted all over the passenger side. the ruse is along the pinch weld back to the front bolts on the passenger seat to body, and to the firewall, up along the kick pannel infront of the door on the inside. i have to make a trip to the yard with a sawzaw. and than weld that back into my car. also this bulet paint the advertise at the top of the page is a great idea when you get it all fixed and make sure there is no more ruse. thats what im gonna do.

want some biscuits with that gravy?
thats not a hard fix, just get all the cancer out first and buy a sheet of 16 to 18gauge sheet metal. trim to proper size, tack it to the flat spot and beat into submission, finish weld, clean and paint.

id be more worried whats under the carpet now cause that hole isnt very new.

Well, we'll have to see about that. This is what I found when I pulled off the fender well today.
