New to forum... Need opinion
First some background: I am brand new to this forum. I have been lurking and learning for about 2 days. I recently became a second time, 3rd generation owner.
My first... a 1983 Z28 Camaro. I always liked the Z28/IROC look, since I was a kid (now I am 35), this Z28 was in VERY good condition (I bought it in 1996), and I got a smokin deal on it. (Man those were the best days of my life in that car)
I have had a few older Camaro's including a 1968, no Firebirds until now.
BUT, I digress....
I recently bought a 1988 (plain) Firebird 2.8. (2.8 soon to be swapped, I have a 383 s.b. just waiting) The body has very little rust (I bought this car in Minneapolis) and the interior and plastic/bumpers are in PERFECT shape. (except the headliner and dash cover, lol) I paid $500 for the car and I know it is VERY worth it.
I digress again...
I have no pics quite yet, but it is just the plain jane '88....
I want to put a body kit on it, and I am looking at this one:
http://www.octanemotorsports.com/pro...oducts_id=8949
I am looking for opinions and any knowledge of this product, and pros and cons of anyone who has it, or is familiar with it.
Also, I am wondering what you all think about the style of this Kit.
If I buy the kit, put it on, I will have $1500 into the car. I am sure the car will fetch well more than that if I decided to sell.
I am planning to "mint" out this Firebird, and I don't care about cost... because I plan to keep it forever!!
I am going to keep (or sell) all of the removed plastic. (I am serious.. it is in AWESOME shape) **If anyone is interested let me know**
~I really just need second opinions.
Thank you!
Here is a pictures of my style Firebird to help the visuals:

*Remember No t-tops / No V8 (yet)*
**Edit** Look at this photoshop trickery- The red car in this photo and the blue one in the DuraFlex ad are the same car! Same photo! Just different rims.

first off, welcome to TGO, and congrats on your find!
i never really liked the stock firebird look, so i gotta say that i love that body kit. are you planning on getting the ram air hood like the one pictured or are you keeping the stock hood?
also post up some pics as soon as you get them!
and if you decide to get the body kit take pictures of the progress through it, im sure everybody here would love to watch your firebird turn into your dream car!

Thanks.
I am sure to take pics! I am sure I will run into issues people here can learn from.
I do like the ram air hood, but damn that one is spendy! I priced them around the web, and all the styles they sell for 3rd Gen. body styles are pretty expensive. I will look towards that purchase later on.
Thanks again and thanks for the the quick input!
I will have pictures soon. Both of what I am working with, and progress along the way.

That's a newer company, and I'm not sure how many people here have actually used them. Body kits aren't all that common on this board in my experience, although I got rid of my camaro over 5 years ago, so I've been out of the hobby off and on.
That kit was probably inspired from this car:

It was originally put on Ebay, oh I dunno... maybe 6 years ago? And IIRC that was an MR2 front fascia that was worked to fit the front of the Firebird.
You'd probably have more luck on the vendor forum in any case. That's where people go to ask about products. I could be wrong.
