Is this just poor factory production?

I don't really know the history of my car and there are some body pieces out of alignment that lead me to believe the car may have been wrecked. Or maybe it's just the poor quality of a mass produced car? Have you seen parts out of alignment like mine are in the pics below?

The steering wheel, more likely the dash board is slightly off and the rear hatch seems to have a large gap at the top(maybe that's normal?) and does not align with the rear of the car on one side.

Steering column is easy. Unscrew the plastic panel on the underside of the dash, loosen two big nuts that hold the steering column in place, center it in the dash cutout, snug up the nuts and re-attach panel. Do a search on hatch alignment for the other problem.

no thats just showing its age the hatch struts push the hatch panel out over time and the steering that could just mean something was repaired or it could have moved on its own no real problems

Thanks guys, the steering wheel is finally aligned with the dash! That's been bothering me for so long. I got the hatch adjusted too, except I didn't have time to adjust the deck lid but it looks much better than it did.
