I think I want to put a 2nd gen T/A vent in my fenders of my GTA. Iv seen a few do it with the Camaro vents, My questions..Can I just buy a vent and cut a hole and make it fit, OR do I need to buy a fender and cut the pocket out of the fender that the vent sets in?

 

I once had a 2nd gen that i put a fender on and it had a pocket thar the vent fit in, so without the pocket i'm not sure how you would mount it. Maybe you could cut the hole and then weld in a bracket to bolt the vent to? I've always wanted to get 1st rear side marker lights(pontiac arrow heads) on mine instead of the factory rectangle lights at the rear, but the 2nd gen fender vents sounds cool...i think it'll look good.

 

Yeah I love the Pontiac Arrow Head Idea. My dad has a 68 bird and I love that about his. 69 was a bird and it was under the body line like on a third gen, and I like it also..I think I might try looking for some fenders now. I was sure they set in a pocket and bolted to that..

 

I installed the 80-81 Z28 vents in my fenders. I'd have to see how the TA fender vents are made to see if they mount differently than the Camaro's...

 

At first I thought I could just panel-bond it on my fenders after I cut a hole in it, Well I havent seen the 2nd gen fenders in person for a while so I cant remember if there is a pocket or not. IF, big if there isnt a pocket that they set in, Im going to just panel-bond it in there. I think there would have to be, Iv got a buddy Im trying to get ahole of that has a lot of 2nd gen crap and Ill go from there..
