Flex question

Hi :

One dumb scary-question.
The frame of thirdgen f-body can flex if stay jacked 1 year ? , exactly only it's jacked with two jacks in the front section of the frame, the rear tires are sitting on the floor , and the front was jacked in the correct jackpoints.

It's probably ?

Re: Flex question

its already 20 years old and unless you have a subframe connector it will happen on daily driving.
i heard that if you want a subframe connector to fit correctly you put the can on 4 jacks and let it flet back to its original position and then fit the connectors. the weight of the engine and rear end give you the original condition.
saw that on a speed shop show.

First off, you have subframes not a frame. Second, if you used the proper jacking points, there is still a small chance that the car has settled some over a year, but unless you have some major rust problems on the car, it's probably not enough to worry you.

If you jacked it up using a good solid spot and supported it on the frame rail anywhere near the front suspension or under the suspension itself the weight would be supported almost as if it was sitting on the wheels. That shouldn't be a problem. Even if it was supported with the weight of the engine hanging, it still shouldn't be a problem unless as stated earlier the body was weakened by rust or some other condition.

Why are you asking?

Hi :

My car is 100% rust free , the only rust spot is near one of the tail lights , isn't bigger than 1 coin.
I'm asking because my car was on jackstands one year , the maintenanced has turned into a resto-mod..... usually happens.

Nice tip! , but i wanna clarify , if someone read this thread too fast , to install SFC , the wheels should be on the ground , to load the suspension

Thanks again for the tip.
