T-tops difference

I got a set of t-tops from a friend and they looked like a matching set, HOWEVER, one side (LH) is "pin-style" and the RH side is a "hook-style".
This is very odd since they are factory tinted and came off same car (supposedly). Can you change out the mechanisms at all? Can you also change locks out?

You can change the brackets they latch into and the trim that goes with it. But who would want 2 different types on the same car.

You can also change the hardware over from one top to another. I removed the hook style hardware from the tops I found in a junkyard and sent them to a friend for his lexan tops (which had pins) he uses for racing.

Do you know how to swap the hardware out? I looked at them last night and could not figure out how the hardware comes off. Does everything come off as one piece? or in pieces?

Re: T-tops difference

It's been a while, but the mechanism comes off in one piece. Of course, the trim all has to come off first, then about eight or ten screws hold the mechanism to the top.
