Hood Pin Install Trick

Here's a little trick for you guys that want to install hood pins.

Install the pins onto the frame section of the car as the directions state.Put some chaulk or, I used wheel bearing grease on the top of the two prongs sticking up.Gently lower the hood,so that it sits on top of the pins.This will leave a mark on the underside of the hood,letting you know the exact location to drill the two holes for the pins. To drill the actual holes, bought a cone shaped drill from Home Depot to drill through the fiberglass hood.

Thanks for the lipstick Idea I'm gonna try it now! Much better then digging through my poor garage looking for grease!

You have lipslick readily available, but not grease? You'll have to excuse me if i find this a little odd.
