Front License Plate (Ca.)
I'm in Calif. and have been recently asked to display my front plate. Is there a factory display frame? It's a compound angle and easy to make ugly. Anyone have pictures of an 84 Firebird with one? Would appreciate any help here.

They just don't look right with the tag on front, I'm glad GA doesn't have front tags.
There is a dealer option (it may be factory) peice that mounts there
here is a google search with some with tags. http://images.google.com/images?sour...N&hl=en&tab=wi

Thanks Aviator857,
You're right, they just don't look right with it. I took a look at your car. Looks great. Mine is an 84 se and the same color (factory water base).
You mentioned that your seats weren't stock. They look good. Where did they come from and do you think they would fit in an 84?
Thanks for the link and thanks again for your help,
Chuck.

Re: Front License Plate (Ca.)
The seats are out of a 97 camaro, the center console is out of a 2000 Trans-am. The seats fit easily from 82-2003 The rear bench back is slightly narrower on the 4th gen cars but look fine. Splice in the controls if its electric adjust, otherwise its a direct bolt in.
If I had to mount a front plate I would fab something up that mounts to underside of the bumper so I didn't have to drill holes in my bumper cover. I guess putting it in the window isn't an option in CA.

In Australia we have to have a front plate also. I mounted mine underneath and to prevent braking off or scraping badly used a piano hinge with a piece of foam behind that to bring it back to the normal position.

A
woulda turned up my hidden license plate bracket, which uses 2 of the already existing bolts underneath.

The factory license plate holder gets screws straight into the bumper cover & messes up the paint.
When I replaced my front fascia, I tossed my plate in the windshield, so I'm not even using the hidden brackets I made anymore.
